We had this happen here in San Antonio about 6 months ago only the owner had left the tags. When we called the phone number, however, it was in Corpus Christi and the phone was answered by the person who had employed the dogs' owner. I don't think she was ever traced and the dogs were adopted by a wonderful student. The dogs looked so sad and dejected, staying very close to the gate - it was obvious something was terribly wrong.
